Getting Started

When deciding between which themes to use with a store's BinderPOS account, the features that these different themes have may influence the decisions being made. The theme that will be utilized by your store is dependent upon the BinderPOS plan that is subscribed to; BinderPOS Pro subscriptions have access to Premium Theme Multi and Premium Theme 4, while BinderPOS Standard have access to Standard Theme. This article will highlight the different features offered across these themes. While this article will highlight and outline different aspects of BinderPOS's offered themes, the account manager(s) assigned to work with you and your store will be able to guide and instruct on the smaller details and differences of each theme that might not be seen here.

At the time of the publication of this article, BinderPOS has three available themes for use:

• Standard Theme
  
• Premium Theme Multi
• Premium Theme 4

BinderPOS Standard Subscription

Standard Theme

When a store has subscribed to BinderPOS Standard, they will have access to BinderPOS Standard Theme. Before going through a list of the different features, check out the Standard Theme Folder and the Table of Contents for Navigating Standard Theme Solutions.

The Standard Theme will have all of the standard features, whereas the following two themes, Premium Theme Multi and Premium Theme 4, will highlight the additional features offered. In Standard Theme, you will find:

• Header
  • The Header includes several differing customizable sections appearing at the very top of the store's theme. For example, customers will see the Store Logo and Main Menu here

• Header Menu Items
  • The Header Menu Items allow for the total customization of the Main Menu and Main Menu links

• Hero Slideshow
  • The Hero Slideshow is a scrolling slideshow perfect for updating and informing customers

• Services Block
  • The Services Block serves as a means of directly linking different pages and products across the online store

• Products Block
  • The Products Block allows for pre-selected products to be highlighted to customers

• Event Calendar
  • The Event Calendar serves as a visual means of reminding and informing customers of upcoming events that are pulled directly from your store's BinderPOS Events

• Testimonial Block
  • The Testimonial Block serves as a means of sharing customer reviews across the store's page

• Banner Block
  • The Banner Block allows for images to be displayed in this section, for whatever reasons are needed (reminders, advertisements, etc.)

• Contact Page
  • The Contact Page allows for store hours and contact information to be displayed for customers

• Category Block
  • The Category Block serves as an extra block for linking or advertising whatever the store is wanting

• Blog Posts
  • The Blog Posts allow for posts previously added to the Shopify blog section to be displayed on your store's webpage

• Footer
  • The Footer serves to close out the page and might include a store's hours, locations, etc.

• Cookie Consent
  • The Cookie Consent allows for customization of the cookie consent pop-up present on the store's page

• Newsletter Pop-up
  • The Newsletter Pop-up allows for customization of the notification questioning customers about joining the store's newsletter email list

• General Theme Settings
  • The General Theme Settings allow for further customization of smaller aspects and minutiae of the chosen theme. While these settings affect a large span of the webpage, the image below gives an overview of the customization options available

BinderPOS Pro Subscription

Unlike when using BinderPOS Standard Subscription, BinderPOS Pro Subscription grants access to the use of two different premium themes: Premium Theme Multi and Premium Theme 4. As a whole, both Premium Themes allow for increased personalizations and creativity.

Premium Theme Multi

Premium Theme Multi is a unique feature with several additional areas for customization over the Standard Theme. The most notable of these is the ability to switch between and utilize various aspects from the previous three premium themes: Premium Theme 1, 2, and 3. Before going further into a list of all of the different features, check out the Premium Theme Multi folder and the Table of Contents for Navigating Premium Theme Multi Solutions.

On top of what is already available in the Standard Theme, Premium Theme Multi also features:

• Mega Menus
  • Mega Menus are further customizable expansions of the navigation menu and main menus available in the Standard Menu

• Homepage Background
  • Homepage Background allows for the customization of the background, whether through images or shades of color

• Promotion Blocks
  • Promotion Blocks are a useful tool for further highlighting and advertising specific products, events, sales, etc, for promotion

• Collections with Images
  • Collections with Images allow for further customization over the Standard Theme's collection blocks with the inclusion of images

• More Color Options
  • Premium Theme Multi allows for further customization of the colors and accents of the theme and theme blocks across Premium Theme Multi

• Customization through Use of Multiple Themes
  • Premium Theme Multi allows for the mixing and matching of several different aspects of Premium Themes 1, 2, and 3; for example, a store may utilize the structure of Theme 1's footer structure and Theme 2's sidebar instead of being restricted to using either theme's structuring for both

Premium Theme 4

Premium Theme 4, much like Premium Theme Multi, is a unique feature available to BinderPOS Pro Subscribers. This upgraded theme feature allows for further customization over the Standard Theme. Before going further into a list of the various features available in this theme, check out the Premium Theme 4 folder and the Table of Content for Navigating Premium Theme 4 Solutions.

On top of what is already available in the Standard Theme, Premium Theme 4 includes:

• Improved Hero Slideshow
  • The Hero Slideshow is improved with further customizability in Premium Theme 4

• Improved Services Block
  • Services Block are a quick and effective way to link various items and pages across the store's webpages; Premium Theme 4 allows for further use and tailoring of these blocks

• Improved Filters
  • Filters in Premium Theme 4 have improved features and further fields for filtering searches

• Parallax Block
  • Parallax Blocks are fully customizable banners that allow for more freedom in how text and linked materials are displayed

• Improved Testimonial Block
  • The Testimonial Blocks in Premium Theme 4 allow for further customization in how the testimonials are both created and displayed, including information given and how many can be seen by customers at any given time

Theme Page Templates

While the majority of the above features focus specifically on the aesthetic differences of each theme, another important difference between the themes and subscriptions can be found in which specific page templates are available for each. Once again, this section will be divided by theme, with an explanation of which theme page templates are available in each theme and how to utilize them. The three themes being discussed are:

• Standard Theme
  
• Premium Theme Multi
• Premium Theme 4

If your store previously utilized a different Shopify-based theme, or if you store is switching between BPOS themes, this section will explain and specify which theme page templates are exclusive to which theme (some examples include, but are not limited to: Advanced Search, Multi-card Search, and Events)

Switching Between and Publishing Themes

Before detailing which theme templates are available across the three BPOS themes, it is important to remember that: theme page templates will not be available to view until a specific theme has been published to your store's webpage. The following steps explain how to publish your theme, if you have multiple:

1. From your store's MyShopify page (may also be under admin.shopify), select Online Store > Themes
   • 
2. From your store's Theme section, find the Current Theme. If this is the theme that your store wishes to use, then you are finished. 
   1. If this is not the theme that your store wishes to use, then find the Theme Library section
      • 
3. From the Theme Library section, find the theme your store wishes to use and select Publish
   1. There is also the option to select Customize in order to fully adapt and customize this new theme before publishing it to your store's webpage

Adding Theme Page Templates after Publishing

Once your store's chosen theme has been published, the specific, exclusive theme page templates can be added. In order to find and add these templates, follow these steps:

1. After your store's chosen theme has been published, select Online Store > Pages
   • 
2. From Pages, click Add Page
   • 
3. From here, select a Theme Template from the drop-down menu under the Online Store section
   • 
     
4. Customize the theme page template as your store sees fit
   • 
     
5. Select Save
   •

When utilizing Standard Theme, the following theme page templates are available:

Premium Theme Multi

When utilizing Premium Theme Multi, the following theme page templates are available:

Further Features

The features and aspects listed above represent a majority of the larger, more prevalent features. 
That being said, there are smaller, less obvious details and areas for personalization that have not been mentioned here. Because of these, we recommend that, for further review and dissection of the features of each of the themes, whether Standard or Premium, your store take advantage of the Theme folders and communicate with your store's Account Manager; theme use demonstrations and in-depth communications are both available through reaching out to us.
