Getting Started
Your store's About Us Page is a crucial and important page for helping customers to better understand your store's goals, purpose, and mission. The goal of this page is to better inform your customers and inspire them to visit and support your store. You don't need to spill every secret about your store, but consider some of the following when drafting your page:
- What products you sell
- Why you sell these products
- Who you are
- Who you are selling to
- Why you are unique
A wise ending strategy for this page is to include some sort of active request at the end of the page. This call-to-action can be encouraging customers to follow your social media pages to signing up for the store newsletter.
Adding the About Us Page
After you've created and saved a draft of your About Us information, consider getting trusted, secondary (and tertiary) eyes to review the information and help proofread and edit it. After this smoothing out process has been completed, you can begin to look to adding this information to your store's online page. In order to do so, follow these steps:
- From your store's MyShopify page, select Online Store > Pages
- Find and select the Add Page button in the top right of your screen
- Enter your Title and Content
- Under the Visibility section, select the publication date. Select Hidden if you wish to keep the page invisible after publishing; if not set to hidden, this page will be visible as soon as you click Save
- Select Set a Specific Publish Date in the Visibility section if you are wanting to publish at a later time. You can read more about controlling when your webpage is published in Future Publishing
- Under the Online Store section, change the Theme Template to about-us in order to register this page as an exclusive About Us Page
- Click Save
