Getting Started
Whenever there is an error with your store's webpage or any problems occur while loading or moving from page to page, your customers will be directed to a 404 Error page. You have the opportunity to adjust and customize the content that your customers will see on this page if they are ever unfortunate enough to find it.
Finding the 404 Content Page
In order to find the customization screen for and adjust your 404 Content Page, please follow these steps:
- From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Themes
- Find and click Customize
- Find the drop-down menu at the top center of your screen labeled Home Page
- Drop down and select Others > 404 Page
- On the customization panel on the left side of the screen, find and select 404 Content Page
Customizing the 404 Content Page
Once you have found and opened the 404 Content Page customization menu, you will notice several areas for customization. These include:
- Title
- Sub-Title
- Description
- Button Label
- Button Link
Title
This section includes a text box allowing for the naming of the entire block. The title input into this text will appear at the very top of your 404 Content Page.
Sub-Title
This section includes a text box allowing for the input of a subtitle message that will appear below your page's Title.
Description
This section includes a text box allowing for the input of a longer message describing the page. This will appear just below the Sub-Title.
Button Label
This section includes a text box allowing for the customization of the button at the bottom of the error page. Most likely, this button will function to return the customer back to the home page, so we recommend something simple here, like Home.
Button Link
This section includes a text box that allows for your store to connect a link to Button. You can utilize this text box to insert either a direct link through a URL or by selecting the text box and searching through collections. It will appear something like this:
