Getting Started


Your Collection Page Intro is the introduction banner that sits across the top of your collection pages on your store's website. This section is totally customizable for each collection page. 


Finding the Collection Page Intro

In order to find the customization screen for and adjust your Collection Page Intros, please follow these steps:

  1. From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Themes
  2. Find and click Customize
  3. Find the drop-down menu at the top center of your screen labeled Home Page
  4. Drop down and select Collections > Default Collection
  5. On the customization panel on the left side of the screen, find and select Page Intro


Customizing the Collection Page Intro

Once you have found and opened the Page Intro customization menu, you will notice several general areas for customization. Please find them below:

  • Breadcrumb Color
  • Title Color
  • Slash Color
  • Background Color
  • Background Image


This section allows for the customization of the color of the breadcrumb. The breadcrumb is the mapping of the current page and how your customers have found their way there. The breadcrumb will be the first line appearing at the uppermost part of the collection page's banner.


The breadcrumb serves to remind the customer the path they took to find the current page. For example, your customers might see Home / D&D Products / Player's Handbook when going from the Home Page > D&D Products > Player's Handbook 


When customizing a section of your webpage and given the option to choose a color, you will have the opportunity to drag the cursor over general colors or input a HEX code for specific shades. We recommend playing around with this feature to come up with what works best for your store


Title Color

This section allows for the customization of the color of the collection's Title. This will appear just below the Breadcrumb on the second line of the collection page's banner.


When customizing a section of your webpage and given the option to choose a color, you will have the opportunity to drag the cursor over general colors or input a HEX code for specific shades. We recommend playing around with this feature to come up with what works best for your store


Slash Color

This section allows for the customization of the color of the forward slash ( / )that is used to separate the parts of your collection's Breadcrumb.


When customizing a section of your webpage and given the option to choose a color, you will have the opportunity to drag the cursor over general colors or input a HEX code for specific shades. We recommend playing around with this feature to come up with what works best for your store


Background Color

This section allows for the customization of the color of the background of collection page's banner. This color will only be prevalent when the below Background Image is not chosen.


When customizing a section of your webpage and given the option to choose a color, you will have the opportunity to drag the cursor over general colors or input a HEX code for specific shades. We recommend playing around with this feature to come up with what works best for your store


Background Image

Within this section, you will further notice that you have the ability to add a Background Image. Please note that if an image is selected, it will overwrite any Background Color chosen. You can add this image by selecting Select image. After you have chosen your image, you will notice another customization option become available: Add alt text.


Adding alt text is a good way for your to include addition descriptions that will appear just beneath your logo. You can add up to 255 characters to this alt text feature
