Getting Started
Blog Post blocks are an excellent means for showcasing your previously written blog posts. Whether your store is simply updated your customers about what is currently happening or what will be happening, blog posts are excellent means for disseminating information and helping your customers stay up to date with your store's affairs. Because this block links to previously made blog posts, you will have to write them outside of your theme editor. For more information on how to write blog posts, check out How to Create and Add a Blog
Finding Blog Posts
In order to find the customization screen for your store's webpage, and in order to adjust your Blog Posts, please follow these steps:
- From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Themes
- Find and click Customize
- You will see the customization menu on the left of your screen. Click Blog Posts
- If you do not see Blog Posts, scroll to the bottom of the customization menu and select Add section
- From here, find and select Blog Posts to add the block to your page
Customizing Blog Posts

Blog
This section includes the blog that your Blog Posts section will pull from. If you have multiple blogs already made, you can switch between them here. In order to do this, select Change > Change Blog and select the blog you'd like to link. If you haven't made a second blog, then this section will automatically link to your previously made blog
Blog Posts to Show
This section includes a scrolling cline that allows for the number of displayed blog posts displayed to sit between 3 and 9. We recommend playing with this display to find a number that fits your posts.
Heading
This section includes a text box allowing for the customization of a content heading. This will be positioned to the left of the Link Title that describes and links to the posts being displayed in the block. For the Heading, we recommend something attention grabbing and catchy to capture the eye of customers.
Link Title
This section includes a text box allowing for the customization of the message that will appear on your block's content Link. This will appear on the top right of your block, opposite the Heading.
Show Category
This section includes a tick box that controls whether or not the assigned category of the blog post appears under the blog post image.
The category assigned for each post can vary. Some examples may include Pokémon, Dragon Ball Super, Magic the Gathering, etc.
Show Author
This section includes a tick box that controls whether or not the author of the blog post has their name appear underneath the blog post image.
Show Date
This section includes a tick box that controls whether or not the date the blog post was written appears underneath the blog post image.
Show Excerpt
This section includes a tick box that controls whether or not an excerpt of the blog post appears underneath the blog post image.
