Getting Started
Once the eBay integration is enabled and the policies have been set up, you can then create Bulk Rules in the integration. Creating Bulk rules allows you to list items in your inventory that meet the predetermined rules you set up and allow you to essentially be hands off when listing those items. These rules can be changed later if needed.
Adding Bulk Settings
Before you begin your customization, these settings must be completed before a bulk rule can be made:
- Finish Setting up the following eBay Policies
- Location
- Payment
- Returns
- Fulfillment
- Click on Create New Setting
Once these have been completed, you can create a new setting and list items automatically through the integration.
Creating a New Setting
Basic Rules
The first section of the bulk setting creation is the Basic Rules section. In this section, you can choose to list items based on the BinderPOS catalog category or the Product type.
BinderPOS Category:
This option includes all games that use the BinderPOS catalog data. We recommend selecting this section if you plan to list anything that you have the BinderPOS catalog for.
Within the BinderPOS Category, you can select a Game and Set to then create a bulk rule for. A Game must be selected, but choosing a set is optional. Once a Bulk Rule has been made for a game, trying to create another rule for the game will bring up an error claiming that a rule already exists for the game. Currently, the integration only allows for one rule per game. However, if you add a set, the rule can then be made for the specific set.
Rules made for a set will override bulk rules made for the entire game
Product Type:
This option is for items that are not in the BinderPOS catalog. The product type is directly pulled from the product type you have for items in your Shopify store. Using these items will need additional information, such as custom attributes to list these items.
You can list items that are supported with the BinderPOS catalogs, but this is not recommended (i.e. MTG Sealed)
Enable Synchronization
You must check Enable Synchronization for the bulk rule to start listing items to eBay from the integration
Price Markup Percentage:
This is a percentage that you would like to mark up the prices of your items for the eBay listing only. The prices are directly pulled from the items you are making eBay listings for through the integration and adding a percentage here will apply to all items listed to eBay through this rule and apply only to the eBay listing.
Reserve Stock:
When entering a number into this section, it tells the integration that the item listed through the Bulk Rule must have more inventory than the number placed in the reserve stock section in order to create a listing on eBay. For example, if an item had 5 in stock, but had a reserve stock of 1, only 4 listings would be made. If an item had only one in stock and there is a reserve stock of 1, then a listing would not be made.
Maximum to List on eBay?
This is the maximum number of listings to be made on eBay from the integration. For example, if you have ten items in stock for an item with a maximum to list being 5, only 5 listings will be made on eBay. Once one of the items sells and the stock is now 9, there will still be 5 listings on eBay.
Minimum Price:
This is the minimum price cards need to be to create a listing on eBay. The minimum price to list items on eBay is 0.99 and cannot be changed to be lower.
The price of the item this applies to is the price in your BinderPOS portal and does not include the price of cards that may be bumped over this threshold by any price mark-ups
Maximum Price:
This is the maximum price cards need to be to create a listing on eBay.
The price of the item this applies to is the price in your BinderPOS portal and does not include the price of cards that may be bumped under this threshold by any negative price mark-ups
Listing Attributes
For the integration to create listings to eBay, you need to add a title and description. The easiest way to do this is to add attributes from the Insert Attribute drop down. When creating a bulk rule, the title has less options than the listing description. Adding the Clean Title attribute is one of the easiest ways to create the unique listing name. In the Title, Mobile Description, and Listing Description, you can add in a combination of attributes and text to make the listing unique and suit your store's needs.
View the Listing Attributes Table
Not adding a Clean Title or Variant Title to the listing title will result in an error where all items will try to list as the same name on eBay and not work
The Shopify Description attribute will add in any HTML code from the Shopify description and this may not translate well to eBay
Custom Attributes
Custom Attributes:
Custom Attributes are attributes you may need to add to bulk or individual rules to properly list an item through the eBay integration. These attributes can be things like Game, Set, Brand, and more.
View the Custom Attributes Table
"How do I know I need to add Custom Attributes?" If you try to list an item that needs these custom attributes, the item will have an error stating that it needs more information, like the Game, Set, Brand, etc.
Custom attributes are often times needed for creating bulk settings for items not a part of the BinderPOS catalog
Listing Condition and Category
The listing Condition and Category are mandatory to create a listing on eBay. You can search for a category that best suits what you are trying to list.
Default Condition:
The Default Condition works best with selecting the CCG Individual cards Category. Trading cards will not list to eBay if new is selected for the condition; this will cause the listing to give an error. The Default Condition will set the condition to NEW for all other categories.
If an error comes up stating that the condition does not match the category, then you will need to change the condition to default condition for the category selected
Policies
Payment, Fulfillment, Return and Location will need to be selected from the policies you set up in the Policies section. These need to have already been created in order to begin adding Bulk Rules.
When clicking the Update or Create Rule buttons, the screen will then alert you that this setting will potentially update or create an amount of listings. This amount does not take into consideration what items have stock to create the listing. However, if there is no stock, a listing will not be created.
