What Is the Multi-Card Search?

The Multi-Card Search is an improved decklist tool for customers to use on your store's website to submit lists of desired cards for purchase as well as share with friends. Once the Multi-Card Search is enabled, customers only need to submit the list of cards they wish to purchase as prompted by the website.

A decklist is a list that you fill out with all the cards that you will be playing with in a collectible card game (generally a deck). These lists are usually comprised of cards from a well-constructed set, balanced, and playable set. It’s common for people to replicate decklists from famous matches or events or from those favored by famous players.

Currently, the Multi-Card Search only works for Magic the Gathering. We are looking to add more supported games in the future
While the idea behind your store's online deck building tool is the same, the Multi-Card Search is different and needs to be added and enabled in a different way than the previous Decklist

Below, you will see the steps to find and customize your Multi-Card Search (Decklist):

Customizing Your Multi-Card Search Page

As a part of the premium theme features and once your Multi-Card Search has been enabled, you have the option to customize how it will appear on your website's homepage. You can make changes to and customize the following areas:

  • Adding a Background Image
  • Changing the Text Color
  • Changing the Opacity
The customization options are only available for Premium Theme users

Here, you will see customization options for your Multi-Card Search (Decklist):

Adding a Background Image

To add an image to your Multi-Card Search, click on the Multi-Card Search section in the theme editor. Then, click on Select Image. Following this, you can upload or choose your desired image. Please remember to check the recommended image size below this section. It should look similar to this:

If your image is a different size, it may affect the quality of the image on your website. Please also remember that this image will serve as a small icon. It is recommended that you play around with adding different images so that your store may find the best to fit your intended purposes.
The recommended image size is calculated as the optimal size across many possible screen sizes (PC monitors of differing sizes, Mac, mobile, tablet, etc.)

Changing the Text Color

The color of your text can be changed for titles in the header of the Multi-Card Search. This is intended for those who add a background image to the Multi-Card Search which has colors that clash with or obscure the titles. To change the color of this text, click on the Mutli-Card Search section in the theme editor. Then, click on Filter Title Color and adjust as is needed.

Changing the Opacity

The opacity of the Multi-Card Search can also be changed to show more of the background image, if desired. To change the opacity, click on the Multi-Card Search section in the theme editor. Then, you can adjust your opacity as needed.

All action buttons, e.g the “SUBMIT DECKLIST,” use the store's button color settings found in Theme settings > Colors > Button Colors

New features of the Multi-Card Search

What has changed?

Unlike the previous decklist, the user flow now has two distinct stages. The customer can make changes to the cards and substitutions before adding the list of cards to their cart.

Submission Stage

In this stage, the customer can select the game, printing, and condition. If a printing or condition is not selected, the Multi-Card Search will treat it as if all options have been selected.

Currently, the Multi-Card Search only works for Magic the Gathering. We are looking to add more supported games in the future

The Multi-Card Search accepts entries in MTG Goldfish format only. Once the list of cards has been submitted, the customer will be in the review stage.

When selecting Decklist, you will see this page:

Review Stage

In this stage, the customer can review the cards that have been added to their decklist and make changes before adding these cards to their cart. On submission of a decklist, any cards that match the current filters and are in stock are automatically added to a list on the right called Your deck. There are up to 4 possible result sections which are grouped together under tabs - Found, Others, No Stock, and Not Found. Next to each tab title is the number of cards in each section.

Found

The Found section is where buyers will mostly spend their time. Here, they can see the cards that were found in stock for the store. For each card, they can see how many they originally requested during the submission stage and how many are queued. The term “queued” refers to the ability to add all the current variants of that card to their deck.

Here they can:

  1. Adjust the quantity of the selected variants

  2. Switch a variant out for another one that matches the current filters

  3. Add another variant which matches the current filters

  4. Add all selected variants to their decklist

  5. Copy a URL to their clipboard that contains the information of the cards and their quantities, as well as the current filters. Upon going to this URL, the submission stage will be displayed with the game and filters set as well as the cards and quantities listed ready for submission

Others

The Others tab is made up of cards whose variants do not match the current filters. Here, buyers can add a card’s variants that fall outside their currently set filters but they may still want.

The adding of a variant is done by selecting the desired quantity and clicking Add to Your deck button next to the quantity input of the variant.

No Stock

The No Stock tab contains cards that the store has but are not in stock.

Not Found

The Not Found tab contains cards that the store does not have or know about. Any strange values inputted in the submission stage will also be noted here.

Strange values here refer specifically to misspelled card names or cards from another game (searching for Pokémon cards under an MTG category, for example)

Here, you will find an example of a successful search:

Here, you will see the four result tabs:

Your Deck

The Your Deck area holds the buyer’s currently compiled decklist.

From here, a customer can:

  • Sync their deck to what is currently under the Found tab

  • Adjust quantities of variants

  • Remove variants

  • See total cost

  • Add the contents of Your deck to their cart

  • Go back to the Submission stage

Below, you will see options for each of the six steps mentioned above:
