Getting Started


Drop-down menus are efficient tools that allow customers to easily find groupings of products, pages, or collections. If you have many products, for example, you can use collections to group them and then link those collections into your drop-down menus.


As with the default menus, you are able to add, edit, or remove menu items.


It is also important to remember that, in most cases, items, such as collections, must be created before they can be linked.



Adding Drop-Down Menus

Nesting Menu Items


In order to create your drop-down menus, you will need to nest or have specific menu items dragged under designated header menu items, as seen in the image below: 



Please note that you can only create two levels of nesting below your designated header menu item.


Adding Drop-Down Menus from the Main Menu


In order to add a drop-down menu to your main menu, please follow these steps:


  1. From your myShopify homepage, go to Online Store > Navigation

  2. From Navigation, click on the name of your main menu

  3. Choose a header or add a new menu item to be your header. If you don't want the header to link to anything, you can enter  #  in the Link field

  4. Add your menu items to include in the new drop down menu. Click Add menu item, enter the menu items name, and enter or select a destination for the item

  5. Click and drag menu items to nest below the designated header

  6. Click Save menu
